Blackcurrant jam with pectin

Black currant is a berry rich in vitamin C. Pectin is a natural component found in many berries and fruits. There is less natural component in black currant than in red currant. Therefore, for berry jam, we need a food supplement with a gelling agent to create a unique texture.

Prepare the necessary products for the jam.

Sort out the black currants. Place the berries in a strainer or colander and rinse thoroughly under cold running water. Leave the berries for a while to allow the excess liquid to glass.

Transfer the clean blackcurrants into a deep container and punch them with an immersion blender.

Add granulated sugar and pectin and blend again with a hand blender.

Pour the chopped berries into a saucepan or cup where you will cook the jam.

Place container on fire and bring to a boil. Boil for 2-3 minutes. In the meantime, prepare the jars, wash thoroughly and sterilize in the microwave, oven, or water bath.

Banks must be completely dry. Using a ladle, carefully pour the jam into sterile jars. Tighten hot jars of blackcurrant jam with lids, after pouring boiling water over them, and turn them upside down. Leave as it is until it cools completely.
