Jam from strawberries with cherries

The most popular jam in cooking is strawberry jam, it always turns out to be fragrant, delicate, but most often liquid in consistency. Often strawberries are mixed with some kind of berry, which complements its taste and emphasizes its aroma. For example, strawberries go well with cherries, which add a pleasant cherry aroma to strawberries, and due to the high content of natural pectin, the jam with cherries turns out to be thicker.

Put the strawberries in a colander and rinse under cool running water. After that, we leave the berries in a colander for 10-15 minutes to drain the water. Then remove the sepals from the berries.

We also put the cherries in a colander, rinse them under a stream of warm running water and leave them in a colander to let the moisture drip. Then remove the tails from the berries.

Then, using a typewriter, a pin, or simply breaking the berries, remove the seeds from the cherries.

For making jam, we take a large enamel container. Put strawberries in it and fall asleep with half the sugar norm.

Put the cherries on top of the sugar and cover them with the remaining sugar.

We leave the container with berries at room temperature for 3-4 hours so that the berries let the juice flow and the sugar dissolves a little.

After the berries have started up the juice, put the container on low heat and bring the berries to a boil. Then remove the resulting foam from the berries, mix them with a wooden spoon and cook for 15 minutes and remove from heat.

Leave the berries at room temperature until they cool completely for 4-5 hours. Then we put them on the fire again, bring to a boil and cook for 15 minutes. We carry out this procedure 3-4 times.

For the last time after boiling, boil the berries for 10-15 minutes and immediately pour the jam into sterilized jars, tighten with boiled lids. We leave the jam at room temperature until it cools completely, after which we put it in a cool dark place for storage.
