We present to your attention a recipe for making this fragrant compote without sterilization. You will spend most of your time only preparing the berries. In order for the compote to be well stored, it is important to carefully prepare the jars for harvesting.

Sort the berries carefully for compote. Remove small debris and damaged fruit.

Rinse the jar well with warm water with the addition of soda. Then sterilize it with hot steam. Boil the seaming lid in water.

Use small scissors to cut off the tail and inflorescence of all gooseberry berries. Then rinse the gooseberries with running water. At the same time, put water on the stove to pour boiling water over the berries for the first time.
