Blueberries in their own juice without sugar for the winter

A variant of harvesting berries for the winter, in which they are not boiled down to the state of jam and are not so cloyingly sweet. This type of rolling in its own juice allows the berries to preserve maximum vitamins and natural taste.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
Sort out the berries, getting rid of small debris, spoiled and crushed berries, so that in the future they do not spoil the taste of the entire workpiece. Gently rinse the blueberries under running water, drain in a colander and leave for a while to drain all the water.
step 2 out of 5
In the meantime, you can pasteurize the seaming containers. It will be enough to hold the cans over the steam for 10 minutes, and put the lids in boiling water for 15 minutes. Then let the dishes cool and wipe them off the condensation with a towel to dry them faster. Cans of 500-700 milliliters will be optimal for this method of seaming.
step 3 out of 5
Pour blueberries into dried jars to the top and cover with a lid on top. It is important not to twist the lid, but simply put it on top, so that the steam can still partially escape. Fill a large saucepan with water slightly less than the height of the cans. Put on medium heat, put a towel folded several times on the bottom and place jars of berries on it.
step 4 out of 5
Bring the water to a gentle boil and reduce the heat slightly so that the water does not overheat or start to boil too vigorously. After a certain amount of time, the berries will begin to boil. Lightly crush them with a spoon and add fresh berries to the top of the jar. Repeat this step until the blueberry juice completely fills the jar, which takes about 40 minutes on average.
step 5 out of 5
Gently remove the seaming from the hot water, wipe it off and close the lids tightly. Turn upside down, place on a thick towel and leave to cool completely at room temperature. You can then move the jars to a dark, dry place where they can be stored for several months.
