Gooseberry jam with lemon

We offer a recipe for healthy gooseberry jam with lemon, the preparation of which does not require a lot of effort and time. Such jam can also be called raw, because it does not require heat treatment either. Due to the content of a large amount of sugar, such a preparation is well stored, and natural berry pectin is responsible for a thick consistency.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 9
Preparing gooseberries for jam. To do this, wash the berries thoroughly with running water, remove all defective fruits.
step 2 out of 9
After washing, lay the berries on a towel or put them in a colander and let the liquid drain completely.
step 3 out of 9
With the help of small scissors, we get rid of the "tails" of the berries on both sides.
step 4 out of 9
Wash the lemons with hot water, pour boiling water for one minute. Drain the water and cut the citrus into circles. We take out all the bones.
step 5 out of 9
Using a meat grinder or blender, grind the gooseberries together with chopped lemons into a homogeneous mass.
step 6 out of 9
Pour all the sugar into the berry mass at once and mix with a clean wooden spoon or spatula.
step 7 out of 9
Cover the container with the jam with a clean towel and leave for several hours so that the sugar can completely dissolve. The consistency of the jam is of medium density, translucent.
step 8 out of 9
After a few hours, when the sugar has dissolved, pour the resulting jam into pre-sterilized jars and close tightly with sterilized lids. We put it in the refrigerator for storage.
step 9 out of 9
After a few days, the jam will thicken and become a little denser than it was when cooking.

Bon Appetit!
