Barley pilaf with beef

Pilaf can be prepared not only from rice groats. Not the most common version of this dish, but very tasty is obtained from pearl barley. This easy recipe will help you prepare it.

Pour pearl barley with water and leave overnight. In the morning, drain the water, put the cereal in a saucepan, fill it with three glasses of water and cook for 40-60 minutes over low heat.

Wash the beef and cut into cubes. Heat the oil in a heavy-bottomed saucepan and add the meat. Fry the meat, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes over high heat.

Cut the onion into half rings and add to the meat.

Grate the carrots on a coarse grater and add them to the saucepan as well. Cook for 5 minutes.

Salt the frying, pour in water and simmer for 1.5 hours over low heat. The meat should be soft and easy to fiber.
